Minya Vineyard and Winery

Make “Ocean Manor B & B” your base to visit many of the local wineries with an easy drive from Torquay. Minya Vineyard and Winery is located 15 minutes from Torquay just off Blackgate Road in Minya Lane.

Established in 1974 by Jeff and Sue Dans, the name Minya comes from the aboriginal meaning “Place of many birds”.

The Winery overlooks a tranquil and picturesque billabong making it an ideal setting to enjoy some fine wines and a light meal.

Jeff specializes in making Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot, Grenache,Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.

Bellbrae Estate Winery

Established in 1999 on a beautiful section of rolling hills, 5 minutes from your accommodation at “Ocean Manor” B & B and only minutes from the world famous Bells Beach.

The wines have strong varietal character and excellent flavor intensity.

The Longboard range of wines are a true expression of the region with their exuberant flavours and are a great match for our local produce.

Made more to drink now, they are bursting with freshness and taste, perfect for the relaxed lifestyle we love here on the Surf Coast.

The Cellar Door and Café is a lovely setting to taste and enjoy the wines.

Brown Magpie Wines

Brown Magpie Wines was established in 1998 by Shane and Loretta Brehany with nine hectares of grapevines that were planted in 2001 and 2002.

Through Shane’s love of wine and Loretta’s love of viticulture, this new venture was born.  The 20 hectares property lies on a gentle, north facing slope the vineyard is situated at Modewarre in the hinterland of the great Ocean Road just 20 minutes drive out of Torquay.

The name comes from the rare brown and white magpies that live on the site.

The vineyard produces fine table and sparkling wines that include Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Picnic facilities are available on site.

Wolseley  Wines 

Wolseley wines established in 1992  is situated on the gently sloping hills of Paraparap  on Henty Main Road only 25 minutes from Torquay.

Owner and Winemaker Will Wolseley believes he maybe the Surfcoast’s best keep secret producing the finest limited quality wines from his boutique size vineyard operating 100% Solar Power.

A cool climate and maritime influences combined with gravelly ironstone soils, produce a remarkable Pinot Noir along with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillon and Chardonnay.  Not to be missed is his syrupy Botrytis “sticky”. Those who have discovered this winery like to keep it to themselves – their own secret  winery.

Jack Rabbit Winery

Formerly known as Kilgour Winery, the Jack Rabbit Vineyard at 85 McAdams Lane, Bellarine it is a short 50 minute drive from Ocean Manor B & B.

Perched high on the majestic cliffs of the Bellarine Peninsula, has a view “to die for” across the bay to Melbourne, the You Yangs and Geelong.

Recent extensions to the Restaurant and veranda area makes this a wonderful experience to have lunch and enjoy the many award winning wines.

Pictured is Nyall Condon, winemaker, has won numerous awards recently-International Cool Climate Award, 2013. He was awarded for the best Pinot Grigio for the show, the Jack Rabbit 2012 vintage.
